In last week’s blog and podcast, William Rodriguez and I discussed the negative impact of allowing labels and titles of jobs define you. However, what you do and how you spend your time, definitely impacts your level of happiness and fulfillment. When we find ourselves facing a choice of what job or which project to take on – what exactly guides that decision? In this week’s podcast it will become evident; once you really get to the core of who you are, every decision becomes more effortless and clear. Further, if the job or title goes away, it has no impact on your identity, because you defined the job, not the other way around. Thus, you are not lost – even if the job is.
My conversation Monday, on The Game Changer Podcast, is with Ilan Arboleda, a film producer with a long award winning career in the film industry. So why is it that out of the dozens of very successful films he has been a part of, his latest documentary, “Thank you for your service” is the one that means the most to him? It is the same reason why, when this crossed his desk, he knew he had to be a part of it. This particular topic of social injustice and what we can do about it, spoke to his heart and soul; his purpose for being here in this lifetime. He is very clear about who he is and what he stands for and he brings that meaning into this film.
This isn’t just about you…
In the grand scheme of things, it’s not just your life, but the lives you have the potential to touch, that depend on the choices you make. I hope you enjoy the show, and my conversation with Ilan inspires you in some way to realize that wherever you are – you have the ability to be a positive impact on so many people’s lives who really need it.
With soul filled gratitude,
