If you have heard any of my podcasts on relationships or read my blogs on this topic, you have likely heard me say, “You are in the relationship you feel you deserve.” The tricky part is, what do you really feel you deserve? To take this one step deeper, the real question is, “What do you believe to be true about relationships?”
This is the conversation I have tomorrow with Jessica Ortner, New York Times bestselling author and co-founder of The Tapping Solution. We met several years ago and have spent countless hours talking about this subject, and I am thrilled to bring this conversation to you. In fact, I think it’s the one podcast that has the ability to have you look at yourself in relationships in a whole new way.
Now back to my question regarding beliefs. Sometimes it is very hard to know exactly what we believe at our core, as it gets confused with what we say we want. Think of someone who goes out of their way to find flaws in the person they are dating. Or they look for every reason the relationship won’t work. It’s not surprising to find that a belief this person could be holding is they would have to give up some part of who they are or the life they have in order to be in a relationship, and at their core they really don’t want to do that. Thus, they sabotage every relationship, without getting to the bottom of why. This can also be seen in the patterns that show up in relationships. However, once we understand why these behaviors show up, we have the ability to change them.
Like I said, this is a “don’t miss” episode and one of my absolute favorites to date! On a different note, if you have never heard of “Tapping” or “EFT” (emotional freedom technique) then tune in just for that reason alone. This technique has the ability to transform pain, sleep issues, emotional blocks, financial limitations, the list is endless. As we are a couple weeks away from Valentine’s Day and in the middle of this love series, I hope this helps to improve all of your relationships, not just your romantic ones, by getting to know and understand yourself a little better.
With heartfelt gratitude,
